#TBT When I ask people what made Day+ Night special? The answer is never the same. From the salsa daytime lessons, the live band, the palace session! The moment was never dull. Hey what can I say, I was there from the jump! An opportunity I am forever grateful for. I can't explain what it meant to me. The platform it provided to do me! Every week I was given a green light to take it there (limited to certain genres of course). People I met, food I ate, tun up Sunday mash up on Monday! When the party was hottest in the city how can I forget the hate from certain djs that didn't think I was ready to carry such a party. But at the same time it was always humbling workin with my colleagues delivering a vibe. (expect when they flop the vibe and certain people would be like 'yo Spoonz go back on!') it was still humbling and challenged me to keep goin, and better myself. Day + Night brought the culture together, even if it was for one afternoon and night a week. It gave something our city never seen before. Younger generations will have their moment, but for my generation this was our moment. As summers went by things change! you can't escape it nothing is meant to stay the same! Friendships, bonds, relationships, community were all establish thru the event we called Day + Night… But also be blame for the lost of those establishments. So in a way I am glad its done! we can move on!
